Samuel T. Mills and family reminiscences, 1933.

1933

Reminiscent accounts (typed copy), with photographs and illustrations, by the children of Samuel Titus and Permelia Mills, who migrated to Garden City, Blue Earth County (Minn.), from Illinois in 1854. In addition to genealogical information, there are data on such pioneer experiences as homesteading, farming, foods (including sorghum making), and relations with the Dakota Indians; and on the teaching careers of several Mills family members. Included also are transcripts of an obituary (1908) of Permelia Mills and a biography (1932) of family friend Zula (Mrs. James H.) Baker of Mankato (Minn.).
